Tiki & Archie feed the homeless!

Thank you for taking a minute to hear Tiki's story and consider donating to her giant heart and love for humankind.  Early this year Tiki really started asking me about the homeless people we would see everyday on our way home from school.  She would ask about their signs, what they said, and why are they "homeless".  I would do my best to answer her questions as honestly and appropriately as I could.  I began to demonstrate giving.  Sometimes we would grab an extra granola bar or apple on the way out the door or, on cold days we would grab a scarf or hat we no longer needed.  I have taught her that by giving food and necessities to these people we are "saving them a trip to the store".  Tiki started talking about wanting to do more for these people she saw everyday.  One day towards the end of the school year we talked about making "GORP" for people.  GORP is like a trail mix.  To make a GORP you simply mix ingredients like~raisins, chex mix, craisins, chocolate chips, nuts, etc.  The idea is becoming a reality now! We have locked down a pedal taxi (and a very strong friend) to pedal us around downtown next Wednesday passing out GORP's with a sweet note from Tiki.  My hope for her is that she can see that dreams really do come true. The reason for the fundraising is to support our "GORP" tours (pay for food, transportation, etc.).  I pray that Tiki not only feels rewarded in her heart by doing the little bit of passing out the GORP's but by being supported by her family and friends.  She is aware of this page and understands that we are "fundraising".  She took it to another level today saying she wanted to make "Rainbow Loom bracelets" to pass out as well.... the sky is the limit.  If you don't mind, please shake out the couch and donate that change to TIKI and her change she's trying to make in the world.  God Bless!

2 hours later.... Archie has joined our team! Archie and Tiki met two years ago in preschool.  They were immediately crazy about each other.  Needless to say so were us parents all crazy about each other.  Archie saw this post and wanted to donate their life savings to Tiki's mission.  Instead, we hired little Archie to join us on the mission of making the world a more loving place! We love you Archie and welcome you with open arms!!!
