Chrystal Thomas

A very special young lady, who is spunky, feisty and kind, our niece from Butte, MT, Chrystal Thomas has been life flighted to Billings, MT. She is 25 and fighting for her life.

She was brought into the Butte hospital after passing out. Chrystal's oxygen level was at 37%, with extreme coughing and vomiting. This lead up to her aspirating. Chrystal's diagnosis was double pneumonia and Influenza. She went into respiratory failure and was put on life support and a medical induced coma.

After, arriving in Billings, she was placed on the ECMO, with continued support of the ventilator. She is not breathing on her own and has had little progress.

The ECMO will allow her heart and lungs to rest. This is her last option for survival. Her parents were given the outcome of grim prognosis.

Kenny, her father, struggles with many medical health issues and is unable to work. Her mother, Kara is the sole provider. She had to take a leave of absence from her job to be with Chrystal. It is unknown how long they will be in Billings to support and care for their daughter .

In times like these, the burden of financial strain adds an additional layer of difficulty to an already trying situation.
