As many of heard - Kryshelle had a mountain bike accident that resulted in a lifeflight to PDX from hood river on oct 7th.
Kryshelle sustained a vertebral fracture that required immediate surgery to safely protect her spinal cord. The surgery went exceptionally well, and ended up only requiring minimal instrumentation to help ensure the risk for reinjury.
I am so unbelievably proud of Kryshelle for her fearlessness and motivation. Everyone that knows Kryshelle knows just how fierce she is. This experience has been no exception. From the denial of pain meds, asking if her bike was okay, to walking immediately after surgery. She inspires me everyday and I’m so lucky to have her not only as my partner, but also a role model.
I am so grateful for all our loving friends, family, and the amazing crew at SheJumps who have reached out to support Kryshelle in her recovery.
An extra special thanks to Lauryn and John Kutcher who responded incredibly on scene. As well as Hood River Fire and the immediate on trail first responders who were instrumental in her safety.
Also our greatest appreciation to Dr Wright, the OHSU surgical teams - as well as V, Bruce, Lindsay, Emily, and the rest of the incredible care staff at @OHSU for giving her the best care anyone could ask for.
It’s going to be a long road to recovery, but we’re both prepared for the road ahead. As we prepare for the incoming months - we have setup a GoFundMe to help assist with medical expenses during these times.
