Pioneer Special School- Therapeutic Pony Sessions
Donation protected
Pioneer Special School is an outstanding special needs school located in Basildon, Essex. The school caters for 177 children with severe, profound and multiple learning disabilities from the ages of three to nineteen, with a wide range of special needs and syndromes, a large proportion of these having Autism and communication difficulties.
Our mission is to introduce therapeutic pony sessions at Pioneer School. Numerous studies have documented the incredible benefits of equine-assisted therapy, particularly for children facing challenges such as:
•Learning disabilities
•Anxiety and emotional difficulties
•Physical disabilities
•Autism Spectrum Disorder
•Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(ADHD)
The gentle nature and intuitive responses of ponies provide a unique environment for children to develop:
Emotional regulation skills
Confidence and self-esteem
Communication and social skills
• Motor coordination
• A sense of responsibility and empathy
• Certification in animal care
This is where we ask for your support. To make our dream of delivering safe and effective equine-assisted therapy programs a reality, we are seeking donations to help cover essential expenses, including:
• Costs associated with purchasing suitable ponies
• The development of appropriate facilities; stables, fencing and concrete base.
• Ongoing maintenance and care of the ponies
Thank you for your support!
