Ybor shooting victim Emily Perez
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Annie Polizzi and I am the District Manager for Moe's Southwest Grill in Tampa, FL. The tragic Ybor shooting in the early morning hours on 10/29/2023 hit close to home for the Moe's team in my district. One of our own management team, Ely Viera from the Stadium location in Tampa, received a call that no mother should ever receive. Her daughter, 18 year old Emily Perez was shot twice during the ordeal and called her mom while lying on the ground bleeding awaiting medical attention as the situation was brought under control by the police. Emily was then rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital with gun shot wounds in her back and leg. The decision was made by her medical team to leave the bullets inserted as to not risk any further complications. She was finally able to go home three days later. Emily will require numerous visits for rehabilitative therapy and endless medical bills will arise as she relearns to walk. Emily will be out of work for the foreseeable future and her mom Ely will be her primary caregiver, hindering her ability to work as well. I have personally known Ely and her family for over 10 years and they deserve as much help as we can offer. In support of the Moe's family and beyond I am asking for a donation to help this beautiful teenager and her family get through this awful tragedy by just focusing on Emily and not having to worry about having the ability to pay the bills this tragedy has caused and will continue to bring.
