Alice Calamar Needs A Lift
Donation protected
As some of you may know, my amazing wife Alice has been battling Cancer (Spindle Cell Sarcoma) since 2017. In 2019 she made the very tough decision to have her left leg amputated above the knee to stop the Cancer and its spread. Unfortunately the Cancer has returned for a fourth time and she recently has had a second amputation below the hip in another attempt to keep the Cancer at bay.
Needless to say this has been a very difficult time for Alice and our family.
Our house has 13 exterior stairs that lead up to our front door. Currently, Alice, with the assistance of our daughter Zoe and myself, must navigate a painful and uncomfortable hop up and down the stairs when leaving or arriving home. We have now made the overdue decision to install an outdoor Chair Lift so she can get up and down the stairs without her having to experience this difficult climb. The Lift is costly and unfortunately it is not covered by insurance! After much consideration and encouragement from our friends we have decided to do a GOFUNDME campaign to help cover the costs of this project.
So here we are. The cost of prepping the stairs and installing the Chair Lift is approximately $10,000. If you feel so inclined (no pun intended) we would welcome any donations from our wonderful group of family and friends to help out.
Thank you so much.
