Donation protected
“We have a caring responsibility to the community as a whole. We want to boost initiatives that contribute to the development of handmade products and tourism in Ecuador,” said Rebecca Braak, Founder of Rebecca Adventure Travel and EcuaFina, after she visited Antonio de Ulloa school. Rebecca knows that the way to support Ecuadorian local communities is by improving education.
In Ecuador, schools are spaces that invigorate the community and are more than academic institutions. For instance, Antonio de Ulloa school is located in Puembo, a small town near the capital of Ecuador, Quito. This school has 297 students from ages 5 to 15 years old.
Nowadays, Antonio de Ulloa school's infrastructure needs urgent repair and renovation. The total renovation of the school is worth more than € 44.000. However, Rebecca Adventure Travel and EcuaFina pledge € 27.000 to achieve four short-term goals:
Phase 1: Provision of technology, connectivity, and donation of school supplies (Amount: € 8.200)
- Connectivity kit for teachers and students: 15 tablets, 1 interactive whiteboard, 1 laptop, and 1 portable InFocus projector.
- Security camera system for the school.
Phase 2: Implement better infrastructure for kids (Amount: € 500)
Install a children's play facility
Phase 3: Improvement and repair school facilities (Amount: € 5.000)
Install new restroom facilities and drinking water infrastructure.
Phase 4: Construction and repowering of school facilities (Amount: € 15.000)
- Maintenance of roofs leaks
