Help us Save the Rooster!

Dear friends, family, community members, and loyal patrons,
Many of you now know that the iconic rooster and neon sign have been removed from the Chanticleer at 101 W State Street in Ithaca, NY. The Rooster itself is an original from the opening of The Chanticleer Restaurant over 70 years ago, and it's in need of serious help.
If you are reading this, it’s likely you’ve been to the Chanticleer and have enjoyed a libation, beer, game of pool, and maybe have even had a conversation or two with Rich Leonardo. We are pleading with all the rooster lovers out there to help Rich get the Rooster back to it’s roost.
Recently, it was determined that the concrete base and structure over the corner entrance are in need of professional repairs in order to safely support this historical landmark. This restoration comes at a substantial cost, and unfortunately, we have been unsuccessful securing financing through Ithaca city grants or business improvements funding. We are now asking for our community's support to make this happen.
Whatever you can do to help is greatly appreciated. Why not put the cost of your next beer into this worthwhile effort? Please don’t tell Rich we said that.
Thank you in advance!
