Hope for Eric Hauser

On March 13, 2020 my son, Eric Hauser, suffered a serious head injury from a fall in the parking lot on his way into work.  He was sent home and upon arrival 911 needed to be called. Entering the hospital with the expectation of bringing him home turned into quite the opposite.  Eric was unconscious and needed to be airlifted to another hospital for emergency neurosurgery.  The procedure left him in a coma and on a respirator.  As a result of the injury his brain was severely damaged. We are now all gathering to face the inevitable.  In a matter of hours my son went from the funny, vibrant, loving and caring young man he was to a tragic place of uncertainty where he now lies.

I burst into tears the other day seeing and hearing my son’s heartbeat on the electrocardiograph screen recalling the first moment experiencing the same while carrying him inside me. We wanted him to wake up, open his eyes and see how much he is loved. This is a race against time for me and my family and we are losing that race.

There is not a place to look where his presence is not seen even through closed eyes. Sights, sounds, touches, smells and tastes flood your mind, surge your heart and drown your soul. We are in need of a life saver. We are all going through a difficult time now with Covid-19 and things are tight. Our expenses are now mounting and help is needed if possible. Never been someone to ask for assistance but asking now even if just a prayer.
