Rachel is a dear friend and generous member of Detriot's DIY scene. They have helped countless people navigate health insurance and mental health treatment. It's our turn now to show some support.

Recently Rachel had to leave a toxic relationship. To secure their future they purchased a home off the landbank. Between fixing their home and working they don't have the time or the funds for a much-needed hysterectomy. Rachel suffers from endometriosis and adenomyosis, a condition in which endometrial tissue grows inside the uterus's muscle tissue. Together these have caused debilitating pain. It's well known that these issues often go untreated due to doctors not taking "period pain" seriously. After years of advocating for themselves, Rachel finally has the chance to get some relief.

If Rachel can reach the funds for their deductible ($2,300) they will be able to take time off of work to recover from their surgery. Eliminating this source of pain will allow them to focus on other aspects of wellness. Whether you can give a dollar or a hundred dollars, every bit counts.
