Our Aim
We aim to raise $8,050 to be able to purchase the tail kit of our homebuilt aircraft. All donors will be recognized on our website. If you would like a tax-return, please donate through Georgia Tech Giving by clicking on this link: https://www.yellowjacketaviation.com/donate.
Our Journey
Yellow Jacket Aviation aims to bring a diverse group of students from all majors together to build an aeroplane that will be flown by students, taking a role in GT tradition similar to that of the Ramblin’ Reck. Despite Georgia Tech's renowned Aerospace Engineering program, its current mascots and traditions overlook aviation. This organization will promote interdisciplinary collaboration and student innovation, as we follow in the footsteps of the original Ramblin’ Reck.
This major endeavour will be broken into three phases: Research, Build & Certify, and Fly & Maintain. Our goal is to achieve Phase III completion by the Fall of 2027. By then, we envision that the Ramblin’ Reck of the Skies, as we call it, will perform flyovers at official Georgia Tech events, thus cementing its role as an additional mascot for the institution.
Our rapidly growing team includes students representing every college at Georgia Tech, working collaboratively to make this a reality. Our main teams include Finance, PR and Design, Outreach, Legal, Logistics, and Engineering. Our organization encourages exploration across various teams, providing invaluable insights into multiple fields.
This is an exciting opportunity for students to gain real-world experience that applies to any major. Our organization offers members the chance to connect with professionals in their industry, explore their chosen field, cultivate relationships, and enjoy themselves.
We thank you in advance for your generosity, all donations are greatly appreciated!
