Yellowstone Flooding
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Over the last few days, the Gardiner/Yellowstone region has flooded severely. Due to high amounts of rain and melting snow, rivers have run over their banks and caused significant damage to roads and bridges. Yellowstone will likely be closed for the foreseeable future as workers wait to assess the damages.
Several roads leading into the park have eroded, the Tom Miner bridge has been swept away by the flood waters, and some residents of Gardiner are currently without power or running water in some cases. From my understanding, people in the most problematic areas were evacuated in the middle of the night.
The goal of this fundraiser is to help assist with the costs of temporary lodging/food and any other necessity as the community tries to recover.
I am not affected by the flood as I currently live in Massachusetts, but I consider this area my home away from home. I spent some time working in Yellowstone and fell in love with the area. The people of the community are very kind, and it hurts to imagine what they're going through.
Thanks so much for reading, and for considering donating!
