International Yemeni Students Emergency Fund
Tax deductible

Imagine assisting students who will be the future leaders of Yemen and rebuilding their country during this dire situation.
Some of Yemen’s brightest students worked extremely hard to receive study abroad scholarships granted by the Government of Yemen. They left Yemen with the dream of acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to eventually rebuild their war-torn country upon returning after completing their undergraduate and graduate studies. However, it was not long before they were caught in the crossfires.
Up until 2015, students who were granted scholarships and cultural exchange opportunities were regularly receiving quarterly stipends (4 times a year) by the Government of Yemen. Troubles began after the outbreak of the civil war and with the split of the Central Bank in September of 2016 between Sana’a and Aden which led to inefficient management. Since then, the Yemeni students abroad have been suspended of a total of 4 quarterly stipends, the equivalent of 1 year without any financial assistance and living expenses. For the majority of students, their legal status prevents them from working in the countries they study and reside in.
The video above shows one of the students protesting at the Yemeni cultural attache in Egypt pleading: “we have no money. We are starving. We can’t be patient anymore.”
Bridges for Yemen in collaboration with Yemen Aid Inc. started this fundraiser to provide immediate financial relief to these students while simultaneously working towards finding a sustainable solution for this recurring problem by supporting their educational tuition.
Small amounts of support like $200 can support students with living expenses, while $400 can support a student’s higher education for one semester. Your support, no matter how small can help Yemeni students reach their full potential and become the hope that Yemen so desperately needs!
All money raised will be solely spend for students. Donate now and share!
