My Mom's medical bills. please read

First off Thank You all so much for taking the time to read this. My name is Paige and I'm setting this fundraiser up for my mom Terri Albanese Raab.

I'll tell you a bit about her before I get into the horrible things that happened to her due to a botched surgery. Now for anyone who doesn't know what a Botched Surgery is its a medical mistake pretty much. During surgery for her hernia they messed up and completely ruined her and almost killed her.
So, my mom grew up in New Jersey and went to Monroe Township High School following HS she attended Rutgers Nursing School. She graduated and was on her way to a long life of nursing and caring for others. She met my dad back in HS, They got married and had two lovely children. My Brother Wayne and I. 

That was us in AC before she got sick. 


This is my brother and I visiting my mom like we did everyday and for every holiday. This was Halloween 2005. 


Now that you know a bit about her back story I'll tell you why I'm trying to raise this money. 

Back in the Summer of 2004 my mom was rushed to the hospital due to her hernia erupting. She was rushed into surgery upon arrival. During her surgery the doctor nicked her bowel and it went unrecognized by him. After surgery he proceeded to sew her wound closed and he never fixed her bowel so the bowel leaked into her body causing Necrotizing Fascitis. What this is, is a flesh eating bacteria and it ate her entire stomach out. I wasn't sure if i can post anything graphic so I kept the picture of her stomach out. Because all of this that happened she was in a coma for 11 months and was in the ICU for a year. I was 10 at the time and my brother was only 4. It took my mom two years in and out of the hospital to recover..kind of. She had to learn how to eat, walk, and normal everyday functions again on her own. She suffered horrible bed sores and had to have a colostomy bag as well as a tube down her throat. My mother flat lined.....twice. By the grace of god or whoever you believe in she is still here with me and my family today. After that two years my mom was still sick and not herself because of the mass amounts of medication the doctors had her on. For years my mom had to go to the wound doctor to get her wound debrided. Her wound wasn't going away. Her wound started out stretched across her entire stomach. It wasn't until late 2015 that her wounds completely healed. 11 years of wound care.....Every day my mom had to dress her wound. Her room basically looked like a hospital room with the amount of medical supplies she had. Now in January of 2015 my mom underwent another procedure to fix herself. Considering she had a huge hernia buldging out of her stomach. She looked 9 months pregnant. My moms surgery took 12 hours. My brother and I sat in the hospital the entire time. After the surgery the Doctor called us in and told us everything went well except for when they had to close her up. When they completely sewed her closed her heart began to fail and she stopped breathing. There was too much pressure inside so the doctor had to open her back up and apply some sort of fake skin to hold her closed. 

So, after a few months in that hospital she went to a rehabilitation center and then finally returned home. Finally healed of her wound. I thought life was going to change and she was going to be better except now her intestines are pushing their way back out forming a whole new hurnia. She has to undergo another operation to fix this one.....

So, you can only imagine how expensive 11+ years of hospital stays, doctor visits, surgeries, home care, rehabilitation, ambulance rides, and medical supplies must cost. Health Insurance only covers so much. My family's home is in foreclosure because disability and my dad's paychecks just arent cutting it to pay doctors off and pay a mortgage and bills and essential life needs. My family has been struggling since 2004. My parents used to make a lot of money. My mom was a Registered Nurse and now she can never work again. All of those years of schooling and experience are gone. Just imagine what that can do to someone mentally. My Family needs the money for the doctor bills so we can work on saving our home.  Not only is my mother a sick woman but my father also suffers from heart problems so he can only do so much. 

My mother is my best friend and she is the most important person to me. I can't lose her. 

I can't exactly express my thanks over a screen but I just want you all to know it literally means the world to me. I know others in the world suffer but my moms suffering effects me the most.
