Hi, my name is Emily and I recently opened a new plant-based restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Yes Please Plant-Based Eatery is located at 3535 North Vancouver Ave. A veteran chef and restaurateur, I have long dreamed of offering plant-based food that met both my ethical and taste requirements and after years of experimentation, I opened Yes Please Plant-Based Eatery as a pop-up in the old restaurant I owned/operated. When Wood Fired Eats in St. Johns (a successful restaurant that was open for 10 years) closed in October 2021, I felt compelled to change direction and pursue my plant-based dreams.
In January of last year, I leased a new space, remodeled it all on my own, and opened my doors in May. It has been a slow start and I have completely run out of money trying to make a go at it. The bills are piling up and I need support. It's just me, working day in and day out covering all of the tasks required to run a restaurant. I would use the funds to get paid up currently on the lease and back bills and then use any leftovers to keep me going until word gets out and my customer base is strong.
I'm not looking to completely convert Portland-area carnivores to veganism, I just want to show them how tasty it can be, and give local vegans a delicious option for healthy whole food. Studies suggest that going meatless for just one day a week can have significant health and environmental impact! Yes Please is endeavoring to show the world (starting with Portland) that meatless doesn’t have to be mundane, and ethical eating doesn’t have to equal bland.
I grew up in Oregon and I'm grateful for the thriving farms in this area that provide Yes Please with quality ingredients. Your support also supports them. I'm also grateful for our local delivery services. Your support also supports them. Most importantly I'm grateful for my three children that light up my life. Your support also supports them. I'm a single mom and this is our livelihood. My youngest dreams of the day that he'll get to take over the business. I'm not asking for a short-term investment. I'm asking that you see the value in Yes Please Plant-Based Eatery and help me create a long-term investment for my family.
We recognize everyone is going through struggles as times are tough right now. So whatever you can offer, whether it be a dollar or hundreds, or even just a quick share to your social media, or mention us to your friends, it's greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
