Efrain's Cancer Battle

After some concerning painful symptoms and many visits to different doctors, we learned that our beloved Efrain, has a rare form of cancer called "Ewing Sarcoma".

He has a tumor that is currently on his right scapula. The learning of this news has been devastating. Efrain is awaiting a complete PET scan of his entire body, that will hopefully reveal no metastasis (spreading of the cancer).

He will soon begin a very aggressive plan of chemotherapy for the next foreseeable year, along with surgery and/or radiation, God willing, the cancer is treatable.

The road ahead of him will be tough but he has a positive attitude and is a fighter!

Thank you to all who have reached out already! Many of you have asked how to help. We have started a GoFundMe page to help cover any financial troubles he may face during this fight. Unfortunately, the system is not set up to help people who become disadvantaged, as the resources still lack in so many ways.

It may be a year before any outside assistance is even approved / disapproved for Efrain. If you cannot help financially, we ask that you please keep Efrain and our family in your thoughts and prayers, for we will need them during this time.

Ewing Sarcoma is extremely rare, only affecting 200-300 people per year in the United states. It is a painful and aggressive cancer that starts in the bone and likes to spread to other bones as well as the lungs. The global baseline for treatment is aggressive chemotherapy, and we are praying that Efrain's cancer responds well to treatment, and he can return to his full self in due time. It is up to us as the people to take care of each other in hard times, as Efrain does for so many others in this world. God bless.
