Bring Jimmy Barry Home

Jimmy loves his job as a pipe fitter and has been a dedicated union worker of Pipefitters Local 537 for many years now. After returning from his Fourth of July vacation with his family, Jimmy returned to his job and suffered a devestating stroke that has left him with many deficets. Jimmy still has no use of his right side. He can engage in simple conversations but something is still missing. He is not yet able to eat on his own because swallowing is still a task. The road to recovery at BMC and Spaulding has begun. We do not know what this journey will hold for Jimmy. Prayers are needed. We were told Jimmy, more than likely, will be coming home in a wheelchair. We are asking for your help for Jimmy and his family. We will need to make Jimmy’s house handicapped accessible.
Jimmy is a kind and gentle man. He never asks for much and knows how to enjoy the simple things in life. Most importantly he knows how to treasure his girls. His love for his wife Julie could be heard as he often sang her name “Julie, Julie Julie.” A tune we now sing to Jimmy when we visit. Julie is the family planner and Jimmy is her amazing support. Their teamwork is deeply wrapped in their love for their two daughters, Lilah and Kenzie. Lilah (13) and Kenzie (7) continue to make Jimmy proud with their strength, love and affection.
Jimmy is also a dedicated son who is always there to assist his parents in all household chores. He is an amazing brother who loves to hear updates on his nieces and nephews. Jimmy's backyard is the gathering place for his brothers-in-law, Paul “Lefty” McLoughlin, Sean Weir and Paul Cronin, who he loves like brothers. Jimmy also has a great love for Julie’s family, the Christiansons and Landers. Their support in caring for Lilah and Kenzie has always been comforting for Jimmy. Jimmy never stops giving and brings his family together in so many different ways.
Please consider supporting Jimmy, Julie, Lilah and Kenzie. Let’s get ready to bring Jimmy home.
