SURVIVING CANCER

Hi, my name is Tina Green, and I am raising money for Brandy Allen, my oldest daughter. Brandy grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and is the oldest of four children. Brandy has always been the model big sister. She was there for her brothers and sister while I worked and went to college. She has always been one of the strong ones.

She left home at 18 and has been on her own ever since. She has three handsome young boys. Mark is 22 years old and in college; Marshon is 16 and is on the TUSD African American Student Advisory Board and the National Junior Honor Society. Rashad is 13, and he has been an honor student since kindergarten! The three of them, in their way, are also surviving cancer. This past Christmas, the boys received nothing from their mother because she could not afford it. The boys are very understanding and did not fault their mother for this unfortunate situation.

In 2019, Brandy received a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources with a minor in Project Management. She is currently off work due to cancer and surgeries, which will not be completed for another year. This means there will be more medical bills.

Medical bills are a constant feature in Brandy's life. Brandy has worked for Tucson Electric Power Company for over 21 years. Although she has insurance through the company, more is needed when she has one doctor's appointment or procedure after another. Co-pays, deductibles, doctors, and facility fees are no joke. At first, it was manageable, but as weeks turned to months and into a year and more, things got out of hand. The economy is at an all-time high, and it is hard to keep up with the rent, utilities, food, clothing, shoes, boy's expenses, and any other expense that comes up unexpectedly.

Now, her vehicle probably needs a new or rebuilt transmission. What else can happen? It is better not to say that because so many things could go wrong.

Many people are trying to get something for nothing, but this is untrue. It took Brandy a long time to allow me to start a GoFundMe for her. She finally gave in after this past surgery. She has worked hard all her adult life and now needs your support. Remember, every little bit helps.
