MSWs for Flint, MI Water Crisis
Donation protected
As social workers, we strive to advocate for social justice for marginalized communities. We ask each other, our friends, families, and mentors to join us in raising awareness and money for an important cause in honor of our graduation.
Flint, Michigan continues to have dirty water. Residents are at a higher risk of negative health outcomes. Despite the dirty water, the state and government is no longer providing bottled water to residents. All people deserve access to clean water for drinking, cooking, bathing, etc.
As social workers, we ascribe to the following code of ethics: Service; Social justice; Dignity and worth of the individual; Importance and centrality of human relationships; Integrity; Competence. The crisis happening in Flint, Michigan not only calls for our immediate action, but also is the perfect way to honor the beginning of our social work careers as it exemplifies all 6 of our social work values.
Please donate to help us ensure that the residents of Flint, Michigan have clean water awaiting systemic change.

Half of funds raised will go to the school district in Flint. They have 5 gallon water pitchers at the school and the funds will be used to help continue to fill the water coolers until the school’s water can be turned back on.. The other half will be donated to three churches in Flint that distribute water bottles to residents every week. This money will be used to purchase water bottles for community members.
The UW Madison MSW class of 2018 thanks you for all of your support throughout our social work journeys and for helping to honor us in this way.
