Support for the Ortega Family

We are asking for support for the Ortega family as Andrew is currently in the hospital with an unknown illness. Below are the details straight from Kim. All donations will go directly to the Ortega family to help with medical bills and daily needs. Andrew cannot work right now, and Kim needs to be with him at the hospital. They have a ton of hands-on support in Arizona, and the boys are in good hands with Grammy, Grandpa and close friends. Details from Kim Ortega, Andrews wife

 

Drew is currently at Mercy Gilbert hospital and has been here since Thursday afternoon. I called the Paramedics on Wednesday late at night after getting a call from a close friend that he was concerned about how he was acting. He was fixated on the time and kept asking the same questions over and over. He had been awake at this time for almost 24 hrs.

 

Rewind a week before Wednesday, he had 5-6 days of fevers and headaches. Day 3 was highly anticipated Strong Beer Festival and he was in no shape to go. He called the Doctor himself that day and got ahold of the over the phone service that told him he had a virus and he could have a fever for 2-3 more days. All covid tests came back negative.

 

Monday was his 41st birthday. It was his last day he had a fever. After the Paramedics came Wednesday night, they brought him to Banner Ironwood. His kidney function was low, electrolytes were way off, and his potassium was very low. They got fluid in him and we were discharged with the agreement we'd follow up with his doctor.

 

After coming home, Drew was still acting off. He was giving speeches and not making sense. I was encouraged by a few friends to go get his brain checked out. We went to Mercy Gilbert and are in the testing stages to figure out what is going on.

 

Please pray for him. He currently doesn't know what is going on, why he's at the hospital, or who his Mom, best friend Jason who has been here by our side, or I are. We have an infectious disease Dr., Kidney specialists, neurologist, psychiatrist, & many nurses. They found his white blood cell count to be very high. They are running antibiotics and anti viral while awaiting results from the spinal fluid they took yesterday. The psychiatrist thinks this is medically related and will see what happens with the results from the spinal fluid. I will keep everyone updated on the Caring Bridge site when we have any updates.
