Mark is doing better today. He had a mri of his brain yesterday and it came back clear. He continues to fight off the infection and keep fevers at bay. Please continue showing support for the family. We are so grateful to all for the prayers, support, and words of encouragement.

Mark was successfully transferred yesterday. Doctors have ordered more tests to look at his brain and lungs today. He is septic again, and swelling has returned. Please continue to pray and give what you can.

Hi, my name is Elysia and I’ve created this page to help my best friends. Mark Lefebvre, Sr. and his wife Shannon are citizens of Royse City. Mark is a truck driver and Shannon is a pillar of this community. She has been a preschool educator and special needs aide for many years, and now works and serves at the Rockwall YMCA. Both of them are exceptionally kind and loving people, and they are always finding ways to give back to their community. Unfortunately they have been hit with an unexpected emergency. He is in the hospital fighting for his life after being diagnosed with a blood infection.
Mark was taken to the emergency room via ambulance this last Monday morning after not feeling well and having a high fever. His difficulty breathing made this a must, as he has a heart condition and Shannon could not move him by herself. When they arrived, doctors and nurses immediately got to work diagnosing and monitoring/treating his symptoms. He was septic, and had gone into toxic shock. He has since been diagnosed with a blood infection, and medical staff have been working diligently this week to rid his body of the infection. Today he has been transferred to another hospital where a specialist team has been assigned to his care, and he continues to fight for his life.
I am starting this page because Mark Sr. is the primary provider for their family. Shannon also works, but she has to be at the hospital advocating for his care. So at the moment, there is no money coming in. They will need help during this difficult time to stay afloat, and to keep their bills paid while he is being treated and in recovery.
Mark and Shannon have one son, Mark Jr., who is 19 and has special needs. He is well-functioning, but works minimal hours and cannot support himself alone while both parents are at the hospital. He has support for his needs from us and other family friends, and is doing well, all things considered.
As we are not certain how long this illness and recovery time will be (doctors tell us it is probable their stay will be at least three weeks), I am calling upon God’s people for help. This family is drowning, and I know that we, as friends, neighbors, community, have all experienced kindness and Godliness on more than one occasion from all of them. Please, I implore you in Jesus’ name. Give what you can to help see them through this struggle. We serve a God who has the ability to heal supernaturally and without limitation. So please also be praying for healing and restoration.
Shannon has asked me to say how much she appreciates all the love and support. Out of respect for their privacy, I will not disclose the name of the hospital (those who are close to the family can reach out to Shannon directly). I also ask that if you are close with the family and want to reach out, that you do so via text or messenger only at this time, as too many phone calls will overload the family.
- All funds raised will go directly to Shannon for Mark’s care and for their bills.
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17
Let’s help to sharpen their sword so they can fight this battle. Thank you for prayerfully considering giving to lift them up.
