Aceino Family Car Fund

We are so thankful that we even feel confident to be vulnerable and reach out to our community, it says so much about the caliber of people that have come around us and journeyed with us and encouraged us over the past few years. We are grateful for you!

The aim of this campaign is simple. We are in need of a vehicle. Our only car broke and we cannot afford a new one so we are asking for help to raise funds, primarily, to help us get a reliable car.

How we arrived at this place of need is not as simple. This is a brief background to how we ended up in the hole we are so deperately trying to get out of.

Since the day we got back from our honeymoon we hit the ground running. We moved crosscountry to Santa Cruz, CA with huge dreams and a determination to thrive. On our way we discovered that we were having a baby and those plans changed dramatically. During the first few years we had great connections and oppotunities, but with a new baby with major health concerns and constant ER visits, work life suffered. I was laid off from 2 important jobs back to back leaving us ultimately homeless and wandering.

We rallied and after 6 months found new strength to hit the ground running again.  Again we found ourselves pregnant with baby number 2 and shortly after I was seriously injured at work with a debilitating back injury and then immediately laid off.  The stress of all of this: two infants in a studio shack and in tremendous financial diffuculty gave me shingles in my left eye, leaving me blinded for months.   We lacked the finances to properly treat the problem and struggled through until an opportunity of a lifetime arose.

We were offered by a prominent ministry on the east coast to move back to be near our families and live rent free until we were able to rehabilitate. We borrowed money, sold all of our things for the 3rd time and made the drive across the country June of last year.  When we arrived and began making our plans to move into the facility prepared for us we abruptly found out that the offer was rescinded. We were dumbfounded. Now truely penniless and homeless again we nearly lost all hope.

During the 2 months we were homeless here on the East Coast our only car died, it needs a new engine which we could not afford.  In light of this a  gracious family donated a vehicle to us, but it was in poor condition and because of it we have struggled to maintain paying our basic expenses, making the neccessary repairs on the car to keep it on the road, and simultaneously continuing to persue getting out of the now enourmous hole we are in.

At the moment I am working multiple jobs, looking for better employement, and working hard at building our photography and illustration business YoungLoveMedia . Danielle is working hard at being a great mom, obtaining neccessary Doula Certifications, and pushing on with me with her photography.  We are confident, and there so is progress being made, and we know this season is not forever but alas, it has caught up to us in a way that is insurmountable without help.

So in light of our temporary plight we are reaching out. We need a vehicle and we are so grateful that you've visited us here and took the time to read this, watch our video, and give towards our need.

From the bottom of our hearts,
Thank you.

Jimmy, Dani, Elliot, and Asher Aceino.
