Most of my life I have been a Certified Nurses Aide or a
Homecare Aide.
It is my job & my heart to help those who cannot help themselves.
Now I am 61yrs., I'm coming here today to ask for your help. This is very hard to do. For 8 months I have looked into every kind of possible temporary help. For financial aide. At my annual salary of $22,000. I make too much money for any kind of help. Welfare says when my gross income falls below $550, then they will give me $197. !?
Social Security will not do any kind of financial assistance for any kind of "temporary " disability.
I had over $12,000. in savings back in March 2014. I recently moved from Kodiak Island, Alaska after 50yrs. I relocated to Vancouver, Wa. with my severely disabled brother, Ray. The last 7yrs. of his life Ray lived with me & my income was through agencies to be his live in caregiver. We were settling in so nicely. We went to concerts for first time in our lives, did some road trips. In March 2014 Ray became ill. He has complicated medical conditions since birth. Could not speak full sentences but he was and is my heart. Ray died 3 months later on May 20, 2014. I was able to get him home to Kodiak where he had 4 glorious days and he died.
At his death I lost not only my brother my heart....
I lost my job. I lost housing.
With my savings I got R a y home, dealt with final medical & burial costs, was able to stay in our 2 bedroom apartment. After 3 months I got work with another agency & still have credentials to work independently. From August 2014 until today I have worked & been available 8am to 8pm. Things were starting to come together then one of my 3 clients went to hospital & nursing home for 6 months! Now I've lost a little more than half my income!
Sorry for the long story.
I was injured in my right knee & hip one day at work in 1985 in a split second freak accident. I have lived with hip & sciatica all these years. The doctor told me in March 2015 I need my hip replaced now. He said soon I will need the left one as well.
I saw him again for 2nd ex rays in August. The round ball that goes into the socket has a big scoop out of the top gone. It is disintegrating. When I saw Doc again at the end of this October he said I can't wait. He suggested I do a go fund me account. I'm coming to you today to tell you all I need for Christmas is a new hip.
Doc says no driving for 8 weeks possibly 12. I am only paid once a month. I need 4 months income
$7,000.00
My rent alone is $750.
If I have the surgery I can't work so there will be no income coming in at all. All my savings has been depleted many months ago. I'm going to food bank sometimes. This month I could only pay half my bills because car repairs had to be done to keep me working!
Friends, the last 3 days terrible pain has set into BOTH hips.
I am having a very hard time walking at all. But I can't stop working. It's a vicious circle for me.
I know GOD has the whole situation in HIS hands.
Please help me I have insurance.
Whatever my copay ends up being I will pay that when I get back to work.
I need help to pay those monthly bills while I heal.
