Cat Leg Amputation

Hello all!

My name is Franz and here Greipel is our 4 years old tabby cat. She was missing on Tuesday night and came home Saturday morning with a broken leg dangling with bone sticking out. I took her to emergency vet clinic right away about an hour away because it was on Saturday, not many places accept immediate response and service. Doctor said she got trapped by some kind of device, most likely either rabbit trap or bear trap. Her leg wasn't able to be repaired anymore so we decided it was best to amputate. It was hard and heart breaking. But at least now that she's home with us and the road to recovery isn't all that walk in the park either. We are to build her an outdoor cat patio with access to go inside the house easily for a "tripod" three legged cat. I will keep the community updated on how she's doing!

She came home on Halloween day and she is alert and less stressed knowing she's back in her comfortable environment.
