When you are only 40 years old and a single dad of two young children, cancer is the last thing you expect.
Recently, Paulie was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma (Kidney Cancer).
He spent years doing stand up comedy and then settled into a more steady job to care for his family. He is a dedicated father who is the sole provider and caretaker for his two children.
Those of you who know Paulie know that he loves helping others and making people laugh. He covers shifts, offers support, helps you move, lends money, makes connections for people, and helps friends find jobs, If something needs to repair, he will offer to fix it. When a friend needs a comforting, he will sit and listen and maybe crack a joke to make you feel better. He is always putting others ahead of himself.
Moreover, he has been in a long standing battle that, thankfully, resulted in him winning custody of his children. That effort included extremely expensive court costs and lawyer fees that have already put Paul behind financially. Unfortunately, the system does not have programs for single dads as it does for single moms.
Now being diagnosed with cancer and the mounting medical bills, on top of all the court expenses, Paul and his 2 small children are facing shut off notice after shut off notice, and the possibility of losing their home. The last thing he wants to do is ask for help.

He is feeling strong and ready to take on this health challenge. He is confident in his doctors and hopeful that his treatment will be successful. However, the other unfortunate reality is that the surgery and treatment will leave him with a huge debt, even after insurance. As of today, the hospital estimates more than 100k after all the tests , surgery and possible treatments.
Paul would welcome and appreciate help with medical costs as he undergoes medical treatment for the cancer. The help you provide will ensure that he is able to maintain his household even in the face of mounting medical bills.
