Friends of Yohhei Sato
On Saturday August 13th, we lost a brother, a friend, a superhero, a Portland icon. His passing caught us all off guard and we've all been stunned by this loss. Yohhei "loved hard" with everything he did and with everyone he came in contact with. He brought a lot of beautiful things into our lives as a result. It's hard to imagine life without Yohhei, he touched more of Portland than anyone else I know.
If you ever spent time with him, you'll know he was the catalyst for adventure. He was the energy. He was the pull and push and thread. For those of you who knew him, I hope you smile thinking of his smile, and even if you didn't know him, I bet you probably did.
A colossal spirit, an indomitable charisma monster, a wild child, a sensitive boy, kind, generous, talented, beautiful, with an open and honest heart. He would tell you what he thought, and he'd almost always be right. He would give anyone the coat off his back, wrap you up in his arms, bat a fly or a rude person away. He believed in honor, in chivalry, in love and family. His presence will be greatly missed. He was truly one of a kind.
There are a lot of expenses to cover in honoring him, now at the end of his life. If you'd like to assist with his family and friends financial burden during this trying time, any donation would be greatly appreciated. We owe his parents a lot, for creating one of the most incredible human beings to ever walk this earth. All funds raised will go directly to:
-Travel Expenses for Yohhei's parents to and from Japan
-Living expenses while they are in Portland and traveling
-Memorial service preparations and expenses
-Anything in excess of this will go to Yohhei's family
If you've ever wanted to express your appreciation for the amazing person that he is, this is a life moment in which it would be deeply meaningful.
Truly anything helps. On behalf of Yohhei's family and friends, thank you for your love and support.
