Yolanda's Road To Recovery
Anyone who knows Yolanda knows that she is nothing short of an amazing, caring, loving and strong person with a big heart. To be blessed with her presence is like a slice of Heaven.
As many of you know Yolanda is in a very difficult situation that is completely out of her control. She went into labor 07/31/2016 and gave birth to a healthy 7lb. 7oz. baby boy named T.J. The baby was delivered successfully without any issues.
However, after the birth of T.J. Yolanda suffered from what is called "Amniotic Fluid Embolism". An extremely rare childbirth emergency in which amniotic fluid enters the mother’s bloodstream and triggers an allergic-like reaction that causes life-threatening conditions. It caused Yolanda to go into Cardiac Arrest and suffer numerous heart attacks. This caused a roller coaster of medical conditions to occur. She went into shock from massive blood loss, underwent an emergency hysterectomy and suffered kidney failure among many other complications. She was in a coma for roughly three weeks in ICU on life support. The odds of her surviving were next to none. Her being with us today is nothing short of a miracle.
She brought a beautiful life into this world only to find herself fighting for hers. She is a fighter and survivor. Under the care of the dedicated staff at "Poudre Valley Hospital" I am extremely happy to say that she is making tremendous progress. She is now out of ICU and on the road to recovery. She has an extremely long road ahead of her, to include speech, occupational, and physical therapy. She will soon be moved to an Acute Rehabilitation Center to begin the journey of getting herself back to where she needs to be for herself and her children. Our hope is that it goes amazingly smooth and as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of her control, she has come across financial difficulties. She has three beautiful children that will be reunited with her soon. Much needs to happen in order for this to become reality as she no longer has a place to call home or a vehicle of her own.
This is a fund for Yolanda and her three children that we set up in an effort to help with expenses for this unfortunate and dire situation. Any donations would truly be a blessing during this complicated time.
