Yolanda's Journey to a New Kidney
Donation protected
Any one who knows Yolanda knows that she is a giving person. She has given so much of her time, talent and resources to enrich the lives of the youth in the community. She is not one to ask for help, however it is only with the help of others that she will get through this tribulation.
Yolanda is on the Kidney transplant list for Illinois, where the wait averages 7 years for her blood type. She is working on getting on the list for Indiana, Missouri, Virginia, Michigan, and Texas to hopefully get a match sooner. In order to get on the list she has to get testing done in those states which involves travel, food, lodging, a personal assistant to help with daily dialysis (can’t miss a day!).
Your donations will help cover these costs as well as medical expenses not covered by insurance. Since losing her job in 2015 for health reasons, it has been a struggle for Yolanda to stay a float financially without the help of her parents who will be overseeing the funds donated here. Anyone who would like to help finacially and/ or get tested may contact OSF St Francis in Peoria. [phone redacted]
As a single parent of a college freshman and a high school senior, Yolanda is working hard to help her children navigate their transitions as well as fight for her own life and health. Let’s give this brave young woman one less thing to worry about!
