Yoseph Almonte, born November 7th, 1989, gave the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty on March 9th, 2021 protecting his friends, colleagues and guests at Wynn Las Vegas.
Yoseph was the epitome of a leader, friend, and loving husband. Protecting his loved ones and his country was embedded deep in Yoseph's core. He served his country and community as a firefighter gaining his Firefighter two certification in Coral Springs Florida in 2011. Yoseph further served his country by enlisting into the United States Marine Corps in 2012 as a 1391-Bulk Fuel Specialist.
Futhermore, while enlisted Yoseph took on the challenging secondary duty assignment as a Marine Security Guard (MSG). MSG's are assigned all over the world protecting United States diplomats and local nationals at U.S Embassies and Consulates. Yoseph honorably served at the following overseas posts: Chisinau, Moldova, Tirana, Albania, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was honorably discharged in October of 2017, after achieving the rank of Sergeant.
Moving to Las Vegas in March of 2018. Yoseph began work as a Special Operations Guard at Wynn Las Vegas. Here his demeanor, personality, work ethic excelled him to the position of supervisor. On July 12, 2020, Yoseph tied the knot with Marjorie Vasquez-Almonte. Yoseph exemplified a loving and protecting husband. He was constantly seeking to improve his family's life. Yoseph was pursuing his Emergency Medical Technician certification. Yoseph was also pursuing excellence in Jiu Jitsu, reaching the level of purple belt.
Yoseph often read and practiced stoicism. He was a man of virtue. His passions helped him find tranquility, purpose, self-control, and happiness.
As his final act, displaying his courageous and protective nature, Yoseph placed himself between the assailant and two unarmed employees, protecting the two employees and giving the ultimate sacrifice. Yoseph not only taught us how to live, but in his last hour, taught us how to face the scariest part of life: the end. Yoseph will be remembered by all who knew him as a friend, protector, and loving husband, father and son.
100% of all donations and proceeds will go to Yoseph's spouse (Marjorie Vasquez-Almonte).
