Donation protected
***TOTAL RAISED DOES NOT REFLECT AVAILABLE FUNDS*** AS OF 12/7/23, THERE IS LESS THAN $50 AVAILABLE. THE PREVIOUS MONEY RAISED HAS ALREADY BEEN SPENT ON BILLS, TREATMENTS, VISITORS TRAVEL FUNDS AND NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS.***
**All info and photos are shared with Yoshi's permission. Feel free to share this fundraiser publicly***
**Update! December 2023- Yoshi has been hospitalized for over a year and a half now. He has made great progress but still has a ways to go with his physical rehab
All donations will go directly to paying for the moving and storage of his personal belongings and ceremonial items.***
Current expenses:
Room rent: $280/month
Storage unit: $89/month
Near future expenses:
Moving and consolidating his belongings from New Mexico to LA: $2000
-We will be moving his belongings out of his old room and into a safe place where they can be stored until he is ready to reunite with them! The goal is to do this ASAP, with February 2024 being the projected timeframe. At that point, his monthly expenses should be much lower and easier to maintain long term.
We are happy to share that Yoshi has come a long way since his stroke and accident in May 2022.
Much of his long-term memory is intact, and he can walk a few steps, sing some songs, and share stories and teachings.
It is uncertain how long he will need to stay in the care of the hospital, and unfortunately, there are not many healing resources available to him on a daily basis. In the future, we hope to help support him with nutritional and physical therapy support, however, there is not a means to deliver it to him at the hospital at this point, so we are focusing our fundraising efforts on making sure that his belongings are safe and in one convenient place.
Some community members are in the process of determining which outstanding bills need to be paid, so we will also allocate his funds toward that when we have that information.
Some good news is that he is able to take day trips out of the hospital in a wheelchair-accessible Uber/Lyft. Our vision is that as he gets stronger, he can get out more often and visit the beach, receive acupuncture/biofeedback/physical therapy etc.
Yoshi is at a point in his healing process where he is most inspired and supported by visitors and phone/video calls. A year in a hospital bed is challenging beyond belief. A dear friend bought him an iPad that he can use for messaging and phone calls. He would love to hear from you!

If you are able to visit, he is in Pacifica Hospital subacute unit. There are currently no covid restrictions or appointments required. Visitors can wheel him outside to a nice patio area where he can enjoy musical instruments, storytelling, cedar smoke, smudging, and singing!
(Make a ceremony and smudge and serenade Yoshi!)
Thank you for your contributions, big and small. Thank you for your continued prayers are visualizing Yoshi fully healed and returning to his new life and the sacred drum.
Funds from the last round were used to cover his rentals, supplements and nutritional support, healing sessions, travel/gas expenses for visitors, and some in-room therapies and treatments. Thank you so much to this community for coming together to support our dear friend and teacher during such a fragile and monumental time in his life.

**Update August 2022! Yoshi is now in an outpatient care unit and making steady progress in his healing!**
Hi Relatives,
As you may know, our beloved Yoshi suffered a bad accident early morning on May 5th, and he is in the critical care unit.
All of the visitors bringing peaceful energy, songs and prayers is proudfoundly helpful.
Yoshi has quite a journey of recovery ahead of him, and it is strengthened by the beautiful, loving and supportive community that surrounds him.
To be connected with Yoshi is to receive such precious wisdom and medicine and he has impacted so many of our lives in priceless ways. Yoshi has been praying, drumming and singing with and for our global family for decades and carries an encyclopedia of traditional ceremonial songs that hold the stories of remembrance, healing, and prayer.
This is our time to surround Yoshi with the healing support that will welcome him to the other side of this initiation.
Anything that you can offer to help cover the expenses from this ordeal will help. Medical bills, a new car, physical therapy, glasses, meals, life expenses, bodywork, acupuncture, etc. are all areas where he will need some financial support at this time.
As you are able, please offer money, prayers, tobacco, cedar smoke, songs, pipes, fires, all of this medicine will sing the song of vitality into his body and spirit. LET US KEEP UNWAIVERING FAITH IN YOSHI'S FULL RECOVERY! AHO!
Yoshi has dedicated his life to be of service and protect and carry these ancient ways, and holds his responsibility with such pristine integrity. Here is a direct way to give back.
Thank you, and we will continue to update this page as his healing process furthers.
