Celebrating the life of Katie Whysong
Donation protected
Recently, our family has suffered an unimaginable loss. During times like these we often search for answers. We seek to make sense of tragedy that has shaken us to our very core. To understand the reason why things such as this happen? Instead as I write this today, I choose not to think of the life we have lost, but of the beautiful life she lived. I choose to remember the infectious laugh that she had and the radiance in her smile. The compassion she held for others and the love she shared. Katie Whysong was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed music and art. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, friends, and cats. Though most importantly, she loved being an advocate for others and mental health awareness. "Remember-You Are Loved", those words she shared with so many others and all we can say now is-Yes, Katie YOU WERE LOVED.
"It's time we change the culture of this topic and start speaking about it...Mental Health. For when we start talking, we start healing and when we start healing we start living."
We're creating this Fund Me account as a family to help support with cost surrounding the expenses of a memorial and with the intention to make a charitable donation to the STAR-Center in Pittsburgh, PA in Katie's name. This donation will provide financial relief for other teens suffering from depression/anxiety and with the hope of saving lives of those struggling with mental health. Always remember you are not alone and you are loved.
