You can help Tansey Moyer fight breast cancer

Hello. Allow me introduce you to my friend Tansey Ann Moyer.

For over 25 years Tansey has traveled around the world working in the Meetings & Incentives industry bringing her humor and laughter to thousands of corporate incentive travelers, hotel personnel and fellow friends and colleagues in the industry.

For the last four months Tansey has been traveling a different path, one that will keep her at home, not traveling or working for the next 4-6 months. You see, Tansey is fighting breast cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. 

SEPTEMBER 2018

Tansey got the Big C phone call while working on a large meeting in Orlando. Two months of testing, MRIs, scans, biopsies while anxiously waiting to learn just exactly what she was up against. Tansey was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer a rare form that only occurs in about 15% of all diagnosed breast cancers.

OCTOBER 2018

While traveling on another trip, she found out the cancer had not spread and was confined only to one breast – so thankful for the encouraging results!

NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2018

Her chemo journey started on November 8th and after only 4 weeks of treatment her hair started falling out. In true Tansey fashion she bought some clippers, gave cancer the middle finger and then shaved it all off. She is proudly sporting a shiny head with various hats and headgear in rotation. Going for treatment didn’t slow Tans down as you can see in the pictures, she even has the nurses and friends participating in Snapchat.



No one and I mean NO ONE plans for a cancer diagnosis. Tansey is fortunate to work for a company that provides high‐ deductible insurance ($6,700 deductible) and short‐term disability (60% of salary). Since her diagnosis came late in the year in 2018 and her treatment continues for half of 2019, she basically has to come up with $13,000 immediately while taking a 40% cut in her income. That’s a big chunk of change for anyone to fund and let’s face it, cancer is scary and cancer treatment is hard work, worrying about money just makes it that much more stressful.

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW TANSEY?
·         Have you worked with her as a TD on a meeting and/or incentive trip?

·         Have you watched Tansey laughing, dancing, singing while loading buses…in the rain? In the snow? In sweltering heat?

·         Have you stayed up all night with her doing bag pulls?

·         Were you a traveler on one of her programs that she works on every year? I know she has been working on several client trips for over 20 years! And I bet she remembers you each time she sees you.

·         Perhaps you’ve worked alongside her in the destination at a hotel or with a DMC?

·         Have you seen her take grumpy adults and cranky children and turn their frowns upside down with her irreverent humor and inescapable charm?

·         Regardless of where, or how, you met her, the time you spent with her was memorable in some way. This I know for sure.

When you have a unique name (like Tansey) people will remember your name.
When you have a quick-witted personality, irreverent humor and genuine charm (like Tansey) people will never forget you.


The main reason for this fund is to keep Tansey in good spirits. To pay back a tiny share of the joy and laughter she has paid forward. Will you help me get the word out? Traditionally, when friends and family are going through this, you circle the wagons and provide company, comfort, food, assist with errands and appointments, and basically ‘show up.’ For those of us spread around the world those typical avenues of support don’t work. What we can do is offer financial assistance to keep the smile on her face and a song in her heart. Let’s take the money worry off her shoulders so she can focus on getting well and back to doing what she does best – make ‘em laugh!
