You Can Launch A OneDay Health Center in Uganda
Tax deductible
Problem
5 million Ugandans live in remote rural communities where healthcare is inaccessible as the nearest health facility center is more than 5 km from their home. They live in healthcare black holes – areas far from healthcare facilities, with poor road networks and limited transport options. When people get sick in these black holes, they have no good option and are forced to either incur a crippling travel expense to distant health facilities, visit a drug shop with poorly trained staff and inadequate medical supplies, or wait at home and hope the condition doesn’t become deadly.
Solution
OneDay Health provides high-quality nurse-led, comprehensive, sustainable primary health care at the cost of only $1.50 for each patient treated. We have launched our first 22 OneDay Health Centers with our standard 3 step process. In just one day, we open a one nurse Health Canter in a small rented building, which can become locally financially sustainable within 12 months and provide a long term, permanent solution that meets the primary healthcare needs of between 3000 and 10,000 people. Please help us fundraise $2,800 to open and equip a new OneDay Health Center in LuKai (a remote village near Gulu, Uganda) and save lives!
*All donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Sumar-Lakhani Foundation*
