Have a big prayer request. Sharing here because I know there are many people who we do not see on a regular basis but love Gage and would want to know to be praying. I just can't text everyone updates.

Back in July he began having some GI issues that were very similar to the ones Dietrich had 10 years ago when diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. My Father also had it in his 20s and 30s so Gage is at high risk genetically.

We had a rough experience with his pediatrician but they gave us a pediatric GI referral after I insisted but that wasn't until 10/18. We were managing the issues ok while we waited but in end of Aug./beginning of Sept. Gage had a flare up that we were not able to control with diet and rest at home.

By the grace of God we finally talked to someone who helped us back door the system and get his GI appointment moved up to last Thursday (29th). Peds GI was great and began scheduling outpatient tests as soon as she could. Gage was losing weight so fast at this point and had a very bad weekend last weekend. We all agreed it was time to admit him to the hospital to speed up the necessary tests and so they could keep an eye on him. So Monday night they called with a room and we have been here since. He has been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and is currently on several medications as well as IV steroids. Hoping to be discharged Monday.

Parents: Don't ever stop fighting for your kids. We have had to push the system and pray for God to guide us and open doors and he has EVERY SINGLE TIME. Praising him for his goodness!!

Specific prayer requests for those who would like to pray...

1. Healing...for the medications he is currently on to help him progress in healing at a steady pace.

2. A medication he may need is an injection that is very expensive. We do not have insurance but have a Christian sharing program we are a member of. They have to approve this injection since it will be a maintenance meds he may need for a very long time. We are also applying for assistance from a program that helps pay for this injection and it looks like we should qualify.

3. For Gage to be encouraged and feel the Lord's presence. He has always been a steady kid and he has handled this burden very well, but he is a 14 yo walking through his first trial and it's a doozy. He is doing well mentally and is praying for wisdom for the doctors. My mama heart is so proud of him but breaks in two that he has to even walk this path.

4. Weight gain!!! He lost a total of 20 pounds and anyone that knows him knows he didn't need to lose a pound of that.

5. Last but not least. Wisdom for us and the doctor.

We know that GOD is with us and for us. This didn't surprise him so we know he has a plan and a purpose. We just want to make the right decisions for Gage.

Thank you in advance for your prayers! We having been living on them the last few weeks. And if you are one of the ones who has known and been praying. They have been felt! Keep them coming!
