You watched Unorthodox - Now help me keep my kids
You may know me personally, you may have read some of my writing or you may be meeting me for the first time.
I am Beatrice Weber and left a marriage to an Hasidic Rabbi 6 years ago despite the severe opposition of the community, my family and Rabbis.
I could have never imagined that six years later I would still be in family court, fighting for the right to parent my children.
When I first left my marriage with four of my ten children, I managed to raise enough money to cover the initial family court costs and obtain custody and orders of protection.
Despite having received my divorce in 2016, my ex-husband keeps on filing motions to take away the children from me, which I am forced to respond to. I used the services of a very competent attorney and have thus far managed to retain custody of my children.
I suspect that he recently obtained financial support from the Hasidic community since he has hired a new aggressive attorney who has drastically increased the amount of motions filed forcing me to respond and incur huge financial bills.
This most likely is also because I filed a lawsuit in September of 2019 against my son’s Hasidic Yeshiva in an attempt to ensure that he receives an adequate secular education.
I have also recently lost my job which has made this financial burden almost impossible to deal with. I have $10,000 in outstanding fees for this attorney and I implore you to give whatever you can to help me cover this cost.
I don’t want to become a statistic. Another mother from an ultra-religious community who loses her children in family court.
My children deserve to have me in their lives and I deserve to parent my children.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your assistance.
