Youa Thao - Funeral Expenses

Hello family and friends,

We are deeply saddend to share the heart breaking news of the passing of our mother Youa Thao (Zuag Thoj / Nam Tsaav Txhaj Muas hlub) on the afternoon of Friday September 23, 2022.

She was a very humble, kind and loving wife, mother to 11, grandma to 5, aunty, and friend to many. For those of you who knew her, she was a bright, talkative, and cheerful person loved by many. Her conversations were always endless and her face always glowed with the biggest and brightest smile.

She has been battling her illness for the past ten years. With every battle and every hospital encounter she had, she fought through them all and always made it back home. Unfortunately, this time was not the same.

On 9/16, she was urgently admitted to the hospital for Sepsis. (A life-threatening complication of an infection, where chemicals are released into the bloodstream to fight an infection trigger inflammation throughout the body causing a cascade of changes that damages multiple organ systems, leading them to fail, and even resulting in death.) The family was faced with a very difficult decision to either undergo a risky emergency abdominal surgery or to just to let her pass. With all hopes, she underwent emergency surgery and was transferred into the intensive care unit afterwards. Our mother remained inhoused in the ICU for another week where there were no signs of improvement but signs of multiple organ failure. On Friday 9/23, her body was too exhausted to continue fighting. All of her organs shut down, yet the only thing remaining was the very weak beating of her heart up until the last beat.
