A FEW 'BAD DAY' UPDATES!
First and foremost, the YHABD team would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, liked, shared and taken part of our journey for YHABD since our journey began back in 2023. We do not take it for granted. While we had to take down our specific donations via GFM's terms and services, and want to honor that, we are still graciously accepting donations of any amount, which will help with our next steps in post-production, film festival entries and pitching to streaming services/networks.
As many of you may have seen, wondered, or guessed, our February premiere has been postponed, to a later date that is TBD. As filmmakers, we were so eager to show our project to our community, but realized that it was in YHABD's best interest to make sure we put our best foot forward - so you can all enjoy YHABD in it's finest hour. We have all your contributions documented, and will honor your donations for when we do have another premiere. We appreciate your understanding!
A 'BAD DAY' BACKSTORY:
YHABD, is a drama/comedy loosely based on creator, writer and director Renee Sava's life and experiences living in Los Angeles, who ironically has always had the dream of producing her own show. Funny how life works!
After several years of working in the tv/film industry in Los Angeles, Renee moved back to Sacramento in 2021, she began attending a local screenwriting group CFAA, where she was encouraged by a member of the group to enter her tv show idea into a "A Place Called Sacramento" film festival. Renee took her script that was 40+ pages, shortened it to adhere to the festival guidelines, which was ultimately selected to be produced into a short film. Here, Renee found her lead Miranda Forcier, who closely related to YHABD's down on her luck, lead 'Arianna'. After YHABD's short film version premiered in Sacramento, Miranda and her mom Sally Forcier, both well known forces in the Sacramento film community, saw Renee's vision, helped her produce a full length tv pilot for YHABD.
After several months of pre-production, our team finally put pen to paper, and filmed our pilot at the end of May 2024. We had a very dynamic and talented crew, starring Miranda Forcier, Sally Forcier, Tom Loeprich, Lamondo Hill III, Toody Lawrence, Hailey Warta and Tyler Hughes, Deija McCowan, Mike Betancourt and Ryan Nowshiravan.
Our crew, was just as equally talented. Our beautiful cinematography was lead by Director of Photography Aaron Leong, with Dean Tokuno as our head lighting technician, Anastasia Kryokova as head of wardrobe, Cherry Muro-Clark as head of HMU, Stan Bautista our Locations Manager aka "soccer mom" of the team, and finally Joshua Williams our editor bringing our whole vision together. We also have recently brought on VFX editor Jeremy Cho, and John Dahl Honoré as our composer, audio designer and sound mixer - we are honored to have them both put their finishing touches on our project.
November 2nd, 2024 we hosted our first premiere with over a hundred cast, crew, friends, family for an exclusive first look at the fruits of our labor. Renee, Miranda, Sally and the team were finally able to relax when the crowd bust out in laughter less than two seconds into the pilot. We felt overwhelmed with gratitude, when we were given a standing applause, and told how funny, raw and relatable the pilot was or our favorite "WE CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE". I know, us too!
As we look into 2025, we are thrilled for our next chapter, or should we say "episodes" of YHABD. Like we always say...STAY TUNED!
