Young Couple Battling Buerger's Disease

Hi, I'm Gretchen Eck and I am asking for financial help for my dear friend Heidi Bunce's daughter and son-in-law, Taylor and Josh Ungar. Early last year, Josh was diagnosed with Buerger’s Disease. This is a painful, rare disease of the arteries and veins in the arms and legs resulting in the death of affected tissue. In Josh’s case, this has affected his right hand and has required numerous hospitalizations, one amputation surgery of 3 fingers in April 2022, and a subsequent revision amputation surgery of 2 fingers in November 2022. He recently had an additional hospitalization due to complications of this disease. Josh continues to be in terrible pain. He also found out at this time that it is likely that his right hand will require further revision surgeries, as the disease continues to progress. He has appointments tomorrow to determine the course of action and when those surgeries will take place.

The loss of income due to missed work for both Josh and Taylor, mounting medical bills, and general monthly expenses related to managing the disease has had a devastating impact on their financial well-being. In addition, Josh pays child support for his two young daughters, Sarah and Bella, who they also have every other weekend. We are seeking to raise funds to assist them with all of these expenses. All funds will be managed by Taylor’s mom, Heidi Bunce, and will be directly applied to rent, utilities, providing for Josh's daughters and medical expenses.
