Graceyns battle with cancer has ended.

A sad update, April 18, 2024: As many of you know, Graceyn had a difficult year of cancer treatments. It was such a blessing that everyone’s contributions to this page allowed Nicole to be with her every step of the way. They had so much important time together and made as many good memories that they could. Graceyns passing came as a complete surprise while Nicole, Graceyn, Anna, Bobbe and Rob were in Mexico celebrating the tough year and completion of her chemo. This is devastating and unexpected. We have increased the funds goal amount, to now help cover the repatriation and funeral expenses. It takes a village…..

March 2023:This was such sad news to learn… My cousin Nicole has two little girls. Her oldest, darling 9 year old Graceyn, is sick. Very sick. She was feeling extremely tired for a few days in late March, which led to a Dr appointment. In a matter only a few whirlwind days, a mass was found in the bottom bone of her skull, under her brain. Just a few hours later, the Doctors communicated that it was Cancer. They are awaiting biopsy results to find out what kind of cancer she has and that will direct the next course of treatment plans. The family will update everyone once they find out more. 

Graceyn is currently in the Pediatric Oncology ward at JPCH in Saskatoon. In the past 6 days, she has had 3 CT scans, 1 MRI, 1 PET scan, 1 biopsy, 1 bone marrow sample and a pic line inserted. For a mother this is extremely difficult to comprehend that this is even happening to this sweet child. 

Nicole will be taking stress leave through EI and will be by Graceyns side throughout this entire journey. Her income will be drastically reduced to a fraction of her salary; yet the rent and bills will keep coming.
