I have two reasons for reaching out to you today. The first and most urgent is that my living situation has become intolerable and potentially dangerous. Here is the situation: I live in a two bedroom apartment in a small town in MS just outside of Jackson. I live here with my Mother who supports us with her day job. Up until recently I would spend my days practicing harmonica, guitar, vocals and writing songs. The neighbors were cool with it, I was not playing at high volume, especially in the evening when folks are home from work. Suddenly about 8 months ago our upstairs neighbor started complaining to us and the management. The complaints escalated and she started calling the police. She and her roommates have gone on a campaign to harass us in every way they can including continually stomping on their floor above our heads and banging for no reason.

So in order to keep the police from arriving at our home (sometimes with guns “at the ready” which is very frightening) I have stopped my practicing harmonica completely and can only practice my electric guitar unplugged. For me and my mom this has become an urgent situation.

My gift is my desire to practice my instruments 8 hours a day, right now I can’t do that and it’s stressful. Playing my instruments is also a prescription from my therapist. As a younger child I was bullied at school, by both teachers and students. Due to many violent episodes I developed PTSD. My therapist said the greatest therapy I could give myself was to play my music. And it has been no less than magical in helping me with my stress . I really need to get back to it. Hopefully with your help we can relocate very soon and I can get back to work.

Lastly I still need to finish my first album. In September of 2021 I did a GoFundMe so I could record my first CD. I raised $3,000. With that money I have several songs “in the can” but didn’t have enough budget to continue. This CD will allow me to share several of my original songs that I need to record NOW because they are about NOW! I write about things that I have experienced, some of these songs I wrote when I was 13 and 14 years old! This album will help me promote my career and allow me to contribute the proceeds (from sales at my gigs) to help support our new living situation and take some pressure off my Mom.

Things are going really well otherwise and I’d like to thank all who contributed before and those who will help me now to achieve my goals for the future.

Here is how your donations will be used:

Mom and I need $7500.00 to relocate to a living space where I can set up a home rehearsal studio so that I can practice anytime I get ready (which is often most of my waking hours). And it will pay for studio time, CD pressing and a short publicity campaign to help get the word out that my debut CD has dropped.
