Your Donation Sustains Your Hometown Newspaper

Please consider making a donation to Colorado Community Media, the locally family owned parent company of the Centennial Citizen, Denver Herald-Dispatch, Douglas County News-Press, Elbert County News, Englewood Herald, Golden Transcript, Littleton Independent, Northglenn-Thornton Sentinel, Westminster Window and Wheat Ridge Transcript.
Beginning December 3rd and until December 31, we’re one of 18 Colorado newsrooms joining forces to spotlight the impact that homegrown, independent Colorado journalism is making in communities across our state. Collectively, our work is essential to a better-informed community and a healthy democracy. But it would not be possible without the support of readers like you. It’s a movement to celebrate ethical, honest, and fact-based journalism like ours—and to raise the funds to make it all possible.
From now until December 31, the Colorado Media Project will match your donation or double your one-time gift, up to $1,000. It’s a unique opportunity to make your support count in a big way.
We hope to raise a total of up to $15,000 with $10,000 from our readers, plus the maximum Colorado Media Project match of $5,000 to put towards the following:
DSLR Cameras and with an all purpose lenses for our nine journalists
External flashes for each camera
External microphone for each camera for video
Two telephoto lenses that can be shared
Two portraits lenses that can be shared
Training on new cameras
Seminars in photo journalism
Our work is essential to a better-informed community and a healthy democracy and often, pictures tell a profound story. Better cameras, lenses and training will help your hometown newspaper tell that story. More and better photos helps us to tell stories for our communities. Sometimes, a photo really is worth a thousand words. Community media journalists now do much more than write: they take videos and photos too. Keeping them trained and updated with new equipment is very important.
That is where you come in. With the Colorado Media Project matching donations, we can double your donation towards our goal of $15,000. Invest in unbiased and independent journalism that matters.
With gratitude,
Jerry Healey, Publisher, Colorado Community Media - [phone redacted] - [email redacted]
P.S. Don’t keep this all to yourself! Celebrate with friends and colleagues by helping us spread the word by forwarding this and tagging us on social media.
