Help the Sorrell family through unexpected times

Jeremiah is one of the hardest workers we know. He does long stretches away from his family, working as a self-employed heavy-duty mechanic. He has been the sole financial provider for the last few years as Lisa stays home with their three children – Keira (6), Myles (4) and Macey (2). In a very sudden & unexpected turn of events, Jeremiah is unable to work and is not expected to be able to return anytime in the near future. His story began all the way back to April 8, when he thought he had hurt his back. On April 9, in horrific pain, he found and pulled out a wire from a wire buffing wheel from his ankle. He was prescribed a prescription in Kamloops after being driven to the hospital by his safety lead at work. That doctor was absolutely no help. Lisa took him on April 15 to the Misericordia hospital in Edmonton, where he has been since. His pain has been unbearable. With x-rays on his back, ultrasounds, MRI and lots of blood work, they finally found out he has a significant Staph bacteria infection throughout his foot, blood and lower back/glutes. They have done surgery on his foot and put a catheter to drain the fluid in his lower back. There was over 80 ml of fluid that drained from his back. He then had an ultrasound on his heart and found out after doing a 2nd ultrasound on his throat that his aortic valve is not functioning properly due to the Staph infection. Unfortunately, the news gets worse as he awaits the decision on whether he needs open-heart surgery. He is currently on a heart monitor and waiting to see a specialist. He will need to take home a small pump & will be on antibiotics for the next six weeks. Our hearts are with him and his family. Jeremiah and his wife Lisa are preparing for a long recovery. Together with your generous donations, we can help give him time to recover and heal without worrying about how he will provide for his family. We can help ease some of the burdens of having his whole world turned upside down. We are so grateful for your help. Thank you!
