Raising Donations For MrJones & YNNN for a vehicle

Hello everyone. My name is Cody and I would like to take a few minutes and tell you why you should donate and help my friends vision and dreams come true. Your Neighbourhood Needle Network, “YNNN” is his heart and soul.

Brad (Phil) Jones has been my friend for almost 20 years and he has had a hard mountain to climb. I can share that Brad has been affected by his mental health since I knew him but now, within the last 4 years, he is reaching his goals and I am so proud to see him doing this much needed job to protect us all!! Brad has told me he considers himself to be a Mental Health Advocate and a Harm Reduction Street Coordinator/Consultant and helping his city is his calling in life. Since September 18th/2018 Mr. Jones has volunteered to clean up needles and drug paraphernalia for little or no money and I feel he deserves our help as a community now! He has trained over 30 people on how to safely handle and dispose of hazardous waste and you can easily see his progress over the last almost 3 years by his close to 1,800 videos on Facebook and material on YouTube. Just google “Your Neighbourhood Needle Network” and take a look. Within the last 3 years he has had (Mayor) Joe Preston, (City Council) Joan Rymal, (MP Elgin, Middlesex) Karen Vecchio to name a few who have came out and assisted YNNN to clean up this city of St. Thomas. With help from Brad’s volunteers and their Hotline calls, pictures and posts, they have managed to clean up close to 5,000 needles and countless amounts of drug paraphernalia. THIS IN MY EYES IS AMAZING and I can’t believe he has not been compensated for the work he has done! Brad has said to me that when he started to cleanup he never realized how bad it was actually getting out there and he is taking it upon himself and his volunteers to go out almost every day and clean up this mess. I don’t want to touch that stuff! I have kids and Mr. Jones is protecting my kids and your too!!! I can’t thank him enough so I wanted to at least put this Gofundme up to show him I am thankful for him and his volunteers for protecting us and cleaning up this city everyday!

The Gofundme is to raise money for Brad for a vehicle mostly. Please watch his video included on here so Brad can tell you how the Gofundme donations will help him help you all! He has expressed to me that he has had his full G license for over 20 years and he had a vehicle in the past but since he has sold it Brad has no way to save up enough to obtain one. Brad is on O.D.S.P and only has maximum $300 for a whole month to spend on food, entertainment, really anything! I see Brad’s passion; he goes out whenever he gets a call from the public, risks his safety cleans up needles for FREE! The citizens of St.Thomas would benefit greatly from a full time service as needles are found all over our city now. This includes parks our kids play in, establishments our families eat at and our places of work and business.

Brad’s perseverance, dedication, and genuine kind nature regenerate my faith in humanity. If you’ve every met I’d bet you would be left feeling the same way! Brad says, “The vehicle will be used to better help our city stay safe, quicker!” Brad Jones is protecting our community day in and day out without compensation. Brad deserves to receive donations and buy this vehicle. Brad will use the vehicle not only to get to the calls quicker and easier but to be a shuttle for people in need. In need of rehab or Dr.’s appointments. He is committed to helping his community and is only asking for people to come together and support his dreams. In my eyes I couldn’t imagine if Brad and his volunteers were not around to clean up!!! Where would we be???? Thank you so very much Mr. Jones for all of your efforts and I for one will be donating to see that you get a vehicle. I will for sure invest in you Brad!!! I see your heart and I thank you. I know Brad will thank you for donating to his cause and he will continue to keep this city safe from needles and drug paraphernalia in the future!!

The full $10,000 is broken down like this

- $6-7,000 for a used vehicle

- $2,000 for insurance for a year

- $1,200 for $100 per month for a year of gas

The remainder of the funds going towards a laptop to better help Your Neighbourhood Needle Network.
