Youth America Grand Prix 2023 Finals

Avery Denney, age 17, has been awarded 1st place in the Youth America Grand Prix senior division out of 145 classical ballet solos. Youth America Grand Prix is the largest student ballet audition and scholarship competition in the world, offering over $300,000 in scholarships to professional schools around the globe. It is not often that a dancer from Spokane is awarded this honor. It was last seen in 2018 when Clara Vazanko held the title at 15. Avery achieved 3rd place in 2022 and was awarded a full scholarship to the Harid Conservatory where she enjoyed 4 weeks of intensive training. With the support of the Spokane community, we are hopeful Avery and Coach Jonna Maule will be able to attend the international finals in Tampa, Florida in April of 2023.
