Youth Steel Orchestra serves Brooklyn Children

Hello! We are raising funds for our youth steel orchestra group to to continue to serve the children in our community. We strive to provide a well-rounded music and educational program for the children that join our band. We provide study hall, pan classes and snacks during each session. Our program is free to all children from ages 5 to 18.

During the first annual Brooklyn Schools Steel Pan Jamboree, our group, the PS 233 Rising Stars along with Genesis Pan Groove Youth, won first place in the elementary category of our first competition! 

We also plan to perform for Junior Panorama 2023. To adequately prepare for this exciting day, we will be conducting a summer pan program where the children will enjoy pan classes, as well as, art, fitness and daily nutritional refreshments. We would love to raise funds to support the program instead of requiring parents to pay for this opportunity. These funds will also go towards instrument maintenance, tuning and transportation, instrument sticks, uniforms and storage needs. Last year's performance was a blast for our children and they even got to play in the labor day parade!
