#NOTMYSECRET

The #notmysecret campaign speaks out against sexual violence. With the beginnings of a global campaign, our focus is to eliminate the silence and shame that follows sexual abuse. We are using the hashtag (#) #notmysecret to increase awareness and eliminate this silence.  

Our global launch occurred on April 5th, 2019; where we had survivors, members from the community share their stories and perspectives. We also had art that reflected themes of empowerment, recovery, sexual violence and prevention, body image, healing and using ones voice. #Notmysecret is creating a welcoming space to foster community building, growth and healing with and for survivors.

Now in 2021 we are reigniting our campaign and hoping for your support in continue to raise awareness and to empower the voices of survivors. We encourage all of you to keep talking, sharing and take the power away from the perpetrators. Empower yourselves through using your voice and speaking your truth. Through the words not my secret; you can help us question societal norms and overcome barriers that perpetuate silence.

These words have become our purpose and now hopefully yours. #notmysecret

Sahara Services continues to support survivors by donating to organizations that provide counselling services to survivors. 

We strive to keep the community engaged in talking about sexual abuse and all that it entails through community events and various platforms.
