Support us Supporting Her -Care for Mom in Hospice

This isn’t easy for me to share, as asking for help has really never been in my nature. We’ve gotten as far as we can on our own, despite our friends and family telling us to try and start something like this months ago. Many of you are aware that in the first week of this year my sister took her own life. What many do not know is that for months prior to my sister's death, and of course ever since - our mother has been battling late-stage colon cancer. Since her diagnosis in October, we have seen doctor after doctor, gotten second opinions, gone through weeks of chemotherapy, radiation, absolutely brutal surgeries, so many sleepless nights, and now we are unfortunately at the end. The treatments have not worked, and we are out of options. Two weeks ago we began hospice, which we have some familiarity with from caring for our father through his battle with cancer 7 years ago. However, we do not have the team, or the resources we had when our Dad was sick. Hospice will provide nurse visits, and assist in certain necessities, but their assistance is limited and my mother’s illness requires much more care. We cannot afford to hire the help we need here, and right now we can’t afford for any of us to be here around the clock either, as the bills are already becoming unmanageable. We cannot leave her home alone, and are again out of options. We are turning to our friends and family for help to try and make caring for our mother ourselves financially possible. If you can help in any way, by donating and/or sharing this page, I and my family will be so greatly appreciative. Thank you for your time in reading, and for any help you give.
