Help Doug Fight Cancer

Fight for our dear friend Doug Stanzione! Doug is one of the most selfless people you will ever meet ... a great husband, father, coworker, neighbor and friend. He works wonders creating beautiful flags in his workshop in his downtime. As you can see, Doug holds many titles but the fiercest one is ‘fighter’! Both Doug and his wife are both first responders and help people in need daily & now they are the ones in need of help. We all know that at times it is very difficult to ask for help, no one wants the feeling of being a burden or cause for concern for someone else.

Last year Doug was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which at his age is a rarity. Numbed with both shock and fear, he fought the good fight conquering the cancer with chemotherapy. He is ever so thankful for his wife and biggest cheerleader Melissa, as well as his loving family and entourage of friends who support him one hundred and ten percent! Whenever he recounts his battle, he always acknowledges Melissa in the most endearing way.

Unfortunately, Doug is about to embark on yet another critical journey. His cancer has returned and regrettably with a vengeance. Although his options are limited, he is approaching this situation with as much positivity as possible. Doug has chosen to receive his treatment at a NYC hospital specializing in cancers. Since Doug resides in NJ and this hospital is approximately a two hour drive, he will be residing in NYC for the three months his treatment is expected to take.

That is why this GoFundMe is of extreme importance for me. Doug needs to wholly concentrate on his fight for life! He needs to know that the expenses he is facing - treatment, the potential need of a caregiver during treatment, housing, not being able to work during these three months ahead (leaving his wife to become the sole-provider for the family) - are all being supported by his friends, family, coworkers and anyone else willing to lend a hand! Anything to help alleviate the psychological, physical and emotional burden he is facing is a help! If you are unable to help financially, please keep Doug and his family in your prayers!
