Help Malachi
Donation protected
Update: 2.19.21
So, some good news! Malachi is home! Due to EDS many normal meds don't work as it would for you or I, but there's a certain compound that has been used by specialists that shows promise and all the hospital docs are on the same page! It's going to take time to build up in his body so he'll be in pain for a good bit longer. Now is where the donations will really help! Medical bills will be coming in, medical equipment will need to be purchased, PT will begin (not covered by insurance) and retrofitting the house for his wheelchair . If you haven't yet or have and can give more, please do so. Please share too!
Early December 2020 my 9 year old nephew Malachi was brought to the E.R. because his shoulder popped out of joint. After weeks of back and forth to the hospital for the same issue plus many other bones popping out, he was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Mast Cell. (a group of disorders that affect your connective tissues — primarily your skin, joints and blood vessel walls. Connective tissue is a complex mixture of proteins and other substances that provide strength and elasticity to the underlying structures in your body) There is essentially nothing that can be done by doctors except to attempt to manage each symptom with medication, Physical Therapy and surgeries.
Malachi is a good who loves Star Wars, play baseball (go Braves) skateboarding and Nintendo. He is a competitive swimmer and wants to be a Veterinarian when he grows up. He is a genuine kind and loving boy.
Jason and Kristyn have a long and tough road ahead of them as they learn how to care for their son. They're like many of us, they're small business owners who work hard to provide for their family. Insurance only covers so much (not so much) Something like this would make any of us struggle financially. Prayer works so pray, but money pays the bills so please help in anyway you are able to.
The $15,000 goal is just to put a number down. I hope we can break that number and raise the goal.
Thank you!
