Support for Casey

Hey guys its donna and sean here. Just a few days ago our beautiful 13 year old daughter Casey was hospitalised and sent via air ambulance to the juvenile psychiatric ward in Gran Canaria for treatment for her mental health.

we will travel to Gran canaria Tuesdays,Thursdays and every weekend from now on.

We moved to Lanzarote when Casey was just 3 years old and have lived here ever since. Casey has been struggling with mental health for quite a few years and we have attended the emergency room many times due to self harming and suicidal attempts. Casey has been through some really tough times at school both mentally and physically. The health care system in Lanzarote has no care whatsoever for treatment of mental health in minors.As a result, the judge has ordered that Casey be institutionalised in Gran canaria. As we live in Lanzarote it is a huge expense for us to travel between islands and be able to support her through this very difficult time. As you all know travel is not cheap and all we need help with is the essential travel. With very little financial support from the government we don't know how long we can keep the trips up and for us as parents and more importantly for Casey this is devastating. We are having to fly back and forth as much as possible and obviously this gets very expensive very fast, not to mention hotel and food costs as well.us as parents need to be a part of the recovery process and therapy sessions are essential. The hospital tells us we need to be here more for Casey as it is detrimental for Caseys recovery. Donna and I have very supportive understanding employers that will give us the time off when we needed. We are trying to raise money so we can make the trips back and forth to see Casey. Our first trip to see Casey she told us she knew we would be coming by bus from the airport and that she had spent the previous 4 days staring out her window watching the buses, waiting and praying that she would see us get off the bus, to say this has broken us is a understatement, I simply can't find the words to explain the pain this has caused us all. Please if you can make even a small donation it would be greatly appreciated, every little bit would help us to be here with Casey more, to offer her the love and support she needs to get better so we can take her home.
